What is Voodoo?

Most people in the World, when hears the word voodoo, they started thinking about people sticking pins in some kind of hand-made or wax-made dolls. However, this is a very contract view of one of the world’s oldest religions.Voodoo is just the African word for ‘spirit’. One of the other Voodoo myths around today is that Voodoo followers practice cannibalism, the eating of human flesh. The reason this is still one of the largest Voodoo myths most likely stems from the fact that Voodoo followers will engage in animal sacrifice. But even that sacrifice isn’t without purpose.

There had been a lot of misconception when it comes to voodoo. Basically Voodoo is all about dealing with the spirits and the saints. In voodoo, what you need is the particular prayer or ritual to accomplish what you need to achieve. Voodoo is famous for its ability to heal and to hex which make it very interesting. So, can this certain belief really heal or kill?
Whenever people think about pins struck in doll, they always think about in negative sense. But voodoo dolls are not always used to hurt people. Voodoo dolls are not always about sticking pins in the dolls. Simply it represents an individual involve in the act of magic, it could be used for healing purpose.  Also it could be used to bring prosperity, good luck and bring love into someone’s life.
Suppose you have a family member or a relative admitted in a hospital, you can create a doll of that person.  You can do a healing spell on that doll to heal that person and this process is known as voodoo removal. For someone who is lonely, you could bring love to them. The voodoo is not always about hurting people. However, there is a darker element just as with any religion. Some practitioner may use voodoo doll to sicken and hurt people.
Knowledge is power. The more people know about any religion the less biased about it they become. It’s a burden that all religions of the world face on a daily basis.
